You'll contribute to ending world hunger by ...

Implement the daily field activities under the supervision of the PHP Supervisor to deliver objectives and tasks on-time and to high quality, being able to propose innovative and pertinent ideas to the challenges encountered.

 

Participate in public health promotion campaigns with community mobilisation, conduct house to house monitoring of hygiene promotion, prepare public health promotion plans, prepare written material for the field with adapted messages and channel for the target audience. 

 

Support in all other wash activities implemented by ACF.


Key activities in your role will include
  • Objective 1 : Elaboration of hygiene promotion material (40%)

     

    • Identify the most appropriate message regarding the target population.

     

    • Write clearly and understandable message.

     

    • Evaluate the necessary material needed for a campaign/activity.

     

    • Identify problems and provide sustainable changes of WASH Knowledge, Aptitudes and Practices to the local communities

     

     

    Objective 2 : House to house visit and hygiene campaign (40 %)

     

    • Mobilize the community to change behavior regarding hygiene practice. Creation and follow up WASH Committees and their performance in the Informal Settlements.  

     

    • Convince all household of the importance of good hygiene practice.

     

    • Ensure the work is properly done and the material use wisely.

     

    • Participate in hygiene campaign, doing shows in schools and at community level.

     

    • Animate focus group, giving clear message on good hygiene practice.

     

     

    Objective 3 : Reporting (10 %)

     

    • Report the progress of the work to the supervisor.

     

    • Report possible problem or conflict during the activities.

     

    • Report the use of materials and possible improvement.

     

    • Data collection regarding the project and the potentials beneficiaries.

     

    • Regular reporting to Hygiene Promotion Supervisor

     

     

    Objective 4 : Other water and sanitation activities (10 %)

     

    • Conduct household assessment.

     

    • Distribution of water and sanitation items.

     

    • Support other WASH related activities.

     

     

    Objective 5 : Security

     

    Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.

     

    Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan

    Objective 6 : Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger

     

    Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.

     

    Support any activity that helps reaching our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities.


Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • Bachelor of public health, education, social sciences or related fields.
  • Strong communication skills, used to speak in public and work dynamically with adults and children.
  • Experience in hygiene promotion and/or public health promotion. Knowledge of direct community work with vulnerable or at risk communities. Experience animating sessions with children, youth and adults with a participative methodology. Experience in community mobilization and participation. Experience in Social behavioral change
  • Ability to work in a team Ability to manage stress effectively Ability to manage time and priorities well Clear communicator with excellent inter-personal skills Ability to work with a degree of autonomy on set tasks
  • Experience in the humanitarian sector in a similar position, collaboration with other partners, NGOs. Not compulsory Fluent Arabic, very good English level (written, reading and writing). Windows domain, Compulsory expertise in Excel.
