  • Ensure timely and quality implementation (according to international and AAH standards) of the H&N activities portfolio in the field base
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of undertaken activities
  • Manage the H&N team
  • Contribute to programme development through participating to multi-sector integrated needs assessments and leading technical needs assessments 
  • Liaise and coordinate with external stakeholders in own technical area (H&N)

Key activities in your role will include
  • Objective 1: (Ensure timely and quality implementation of the H&N activities portfolio in the field base)                    
    • Provide project management to the H&N team regarding all ongoing project activities, while maintaining and implementing appropriate standards and best practices in line with ACF policies and procedures
    • Support field coordinator, program manager, and the H&N team with the establishment, monitoring and delivery of H&N program level strategies, plans, targets, indicators, and work plans, verifying budgets against forecasts
  • Objective 2: (Ensure timely and accurate reporting of undertaken activities) 

    • Ensure monthly reporting of activities including achievements, challenges and explaining deviation with targets 
    • Contribute to donors’ reporting requirements
    • Collaborate with national authorities and partners to coordinate and implement public health and nutrition response activities    
  • Objective 3: (Manage the H&N team)                

    • Identify capacity development needs of own team and liaise with the Technical Coordinator and HR to envisage the way forward
    • In charge of appraising the team under his management and providing capacity building 
  • Objective 4: (Contribute to programmed development through participating to multi-sector integrated needs assessments and leading technical needs assessments                   

    • Collect information and data required to analyze H&N needs/gaps.
    • Collaborate with national authorities and partners to coordinate and implement public health and nutrition response activities.
    • Proactively identify new areas of opportunities and interventions in collaboration with field teams.
  • Objective 5: (Liaise and coordinate with external stakeholders in own technical area (H&N)                      

    • participate in sub-sector meetings and relevant technical working groups at the local level
    • Following up approvals from line ministries   

Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • Education: BS degree in medicine with specialty in pediatrics or maternal and child health, health or social sciences (including pharmacy), or international development/relations with public health management experience/degrees. 
  • Technical specific knowledge:
    • Solid project cycle management knowledge and program management.
    • Good experience in working with international donors’ funding and reporting.
    • M&E tools and methodologies.
    • Previous involvement in implementation processes (including development of bill of quantities, tech spec cost estimations, etc.) is essential.
    • Knowledge of the Syrian context is essential.
    • Market Assessments/Analysis.
  • Previous experience (years):
    • Previous experience in the humanitarian field as TL or similar (at least 2 years).
    • Excellent experience in working with local/national partners, Ministries, and other stakeholders with solid ability of regular stakeholder mapping, coordination, and representation.
    • Good experience in implementing H&N programs, including primary health care, reproductive care, care practices, health care management, IYCF-E, CMAM, MHPSS.
    • Proved experience in conducting needs assessments, contextual profiling, risk assessments and analysis pertaining to field implementation of H&N technical projects.
    • Good team leadership and conflict resolution skills, consensus team building, and adaptability.  
  • Humanitarian sector knowledge:
    • Humanitarian principles H&N and Early Recovery/Resilience programming. 
    • Knowledge of Gender and Protection mainstreaming.
  • Languages: Arabic, English
  •  IT systems: Microsoft Office, Spreadsheets, and databases

  • Sphere Project: (minimum standards).


Our remuneration package:

Contract period: 5 months renewable base on Action Against Hunger fund and performance.

Salary/benefits: According to Action Against Hunger's salary scale and terms and conditions.

Duty station: Aleppo.
