The social Worker will lead psychosocial support (PSS) activities in the field, including the facilitation of peer-led focus group discussions, informal skill-building sessions, and awareness activities with both men and women, in alignment with the weekly program schedule. 

The social worker will Proactively identify behavioral changes or psychosocial concerns among beneficiaries and ensure timely referrals to appropriate protection stakeholders or specialized external services. He/She will Organize and support the implementation of Psychological First Aid (PFA) training for Action Against Hunger staff and first responders.


Objective 1: PSS Activities (60%) 

  • Facilitate the participation of all the segments of the target population to the planned activities held at the assigned center, notably the most vulnerable ones (refugees, local community, youth, women, elderly, minority members, people with disabilities etc.), ensuring that proper attention is paid to specific emotional and physical needs.
  • Support the Area Coordinator in developing the work plan of each project’s activity, organize, implement them and ensure that they are executed as per the shared calendar.
  • Prepare and archive relevant documents (such as Activity Reports, beneficiaries’ Attendance Sheets, etc.), including photos and videos.
  • Responsible of the identification of potential Protection cases and referral + follow up to protection stakeholders.
  • Support the MEAL Department in monitoring the quality of implemented activities, their impact, and beneficiaries’ participation.
  • Inform the supervisors about any difficulty met during the implementation of the activities. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the beneficiaries and enable and develop ACF programs. 
  • Participate in case conferences, working groups, ad hoc workshops, and thematic training when required. 
  • Actively coordinate with other agencies implementing PSS activities. 
  • Organizing and supporting the facilitation of the PFA training to our team and first responders.  

Objective 2: General objective (20%) 

  • Respect of Action Against Hunger Charter and internal rule of ethics. 
  • Be available if necessary to work on weekends and out of office time. 
  • Participate in any other work to achieve the project goal.  

Objective 3: Reporting (10%) 

  • Complete all reports in a timely manner. 
  • Always wear ACTION AGAINST HUNGER vests and identification cards.


Objective 4: Security (5%) 

  • Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and performs the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols. 
  • Communicate with the security managers of the working location with any security related information or non-compliance with the security plan.

 

Objective 5: Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger (5%) 

  • Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities. 
  • Support any activity that helps us to reach our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities. 
  • Promote gender equality within the humanitarian and/or development work.

  • Ability to manage sensitive cases and maintain confidentiality
  • Experience in facilitating group sessions and awareness activities
  • Understanding of referral pathways and protection principles

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subjects (Social Work, Psychology, Education, Development or Humanitarian Studies, etc.)
  • 1.Psychosocial Support (PSS) methodologies and tools. 2.Protection principles and referral mechanisms. 3.Monitoring and Evaluation (MEAL) basics for activity quality and impact. 4.Community engagement techniques, including working with vulnerable groups. 5.Data handling (e.g., attendance sheets, consent forms) and confidentiality protocols.
  • One year experience working in a related field of expertise.
  • Experience in the humanitarian sector in a similar position
  • Ability to work with a degree of autonomy on set tasks
