Supporting base operations through safe and reliable transportation services, assisting in logistics tasks, and ensuring the safety and functionality of Action Against Hunger premises. The role contributes to fleet management by maintaining vehicle readiness and documentation, supports safety and security compliance, manages equipment and inventory movements, and helps with the day-to-day operational needs of the base, including office logistics, generator maintenance, and event arrangements, in line with Action Against Hunger procedures and mission requirements.
Objective 1: (Safety and Security)
- Support the Base Logistician ensuring that all Action Against Hunger premises in the base are secure accomplishing with the safety rules as Action Against Hunger guidelines.
- Support the Base Logistician in the administration and update of the Hibernation and First Aid kit stock.
- Ensures the maintenance office having the adequate safety equipment (fire extinguishers, lights, etc.).
Objective 2: (Fleet Management)
- Always ensure the correct and safe driving taking care about the minimum safety standards as per NSOP and driving local rules.
- Update on a daily basis the car unit log. book with all the required details mentioned in it.
- Responsible for the daily check on the car using the new checking list, ensuring the check list is updated on a daily basis and handed over to the line manager.
- Follows up in the fuel consumption of the car unit and identifies solutions in timely manner.
- Responsible for the revision and regular maintenance of the car unit tool kit and first aid kit.
- Ensure that the fuel tank is always filled before any trip, weekends, and holidays.
- Responsible for moving, loading, and unloading Action Against Hunger purchases, materials, and parcels when requested by the line manager with help of other colleagues if needed.
- Conduct field visits, transportation of Action Against Hunger staff and goods when needed during weekends and holidays.
- Conduct field visits and transportation of Action Against Hunger staff and goods to all the related implementation areas in the country as per the needs of the mission.
Objective 3: (Premises and office needs)
- Ensures the adequate administration of the keys, lock doors, windows, and security systems in the base.
- Ensures the maintenance and fuel source for the power generators and heaters in base office.
- Support the Base Logistician in the general requirements at office, and staff for the proper operations of the mission.
- Provide support in Events and meeting arrangements.
Objective 4: (Equipment & Inventory)
- Support Base Logistician in managing the equipment and inventory in Base Office.
- Follow up the equipment movement in Action Against Hunger Base Office (new items received, items given or taken to staff … etc.)
- Support for the documents related to the equipment movement (Loan certificate, Loss report, Transfer request, … etc.)
- Support the Base Logistician in the equipment & inventory files.
- Contract period: 6 months renewable base on Action Against Hunger fund and performance
- Salary/benefits: According to Action Against Hunger's salary scale and terms and conditions.
- Duty station: Hama.
