Objective 1: Identify and respond to new funding opportunities

  • Support the Country Director and Deputy Country Director with donor intelligence, including donor mapping, background research, and preparation of briefing notes or other relevant documents.
  • Monitor new calls for proposals, reviewing published opportunities, identifying risks, constraints, and AAH’s eligibility, and brief relevant staff accordingly.
  • Strengthen proposal quality and consistency by identifying Focal Points, leading process mapping, and ensuring a smooth handover to the Grants Coordinator once a funding opportunity is identified.
  • Prepare TORs, oversee procurement, and supervise consultants to ensure high-quality and timely proposal submissions.
  • Coordinate donor feedback, track responses, and manage resubmissions using feedback tracker tools.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for each funding opportunity, considering financial, operational, and reputational risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide training and capacity-building support to program teams on donor requirements and proposal development processes.

Objective 2: Identify and respond to new funding opportunities

  • Maintain and update donor and partner contact lists, including strategies, priorities, and potential synergies with Action Against Hunger Lebanon’s programmatic objectives, in coordination with Grants, Advocacy, and Communications Teams.
  • Implement targeted donor stewardship initiatives to nurture long-term relationships and maximize donor engagement.
  • Coordinate with Advocacy and Communications staff to ensure materials are shared effectively with relevant donors.
  • Organize and, when necessary, lead donor-related field visits and capital lobby trips, including logistics, communications, and technical preparation.
  • Ensure timely and consistent communication with donors, involving Technical Coordinators and the Country Director as appropriate.

Objective 3: Provide Strategic and Technical support to Grant Management and Partnerships

  • Facilitate coordination between the Grants Coordinator (due diligence) and the Business Development Senior Coordinator (relationship-building) to ensure progress and alignment across partner management activities.
  • Liaise with HQ staff across the Action Against Hunger International network—including the Donor Relations Unit and Madrid HQ Operations—on potential funding opportunities, donor intelligence, and strategic guidance.
  • Review contracts and memoranda of understanding with donors, partners, and institutions to ensure alignment with AAH and donor requirements.
  • Prepare briefing papers and support external communication materials for donor visits and meetings.
  • Maintain a database of donor guidelines and regulations and collaborate with Communications to create fact sheets for key donors.
  • Support Programme Teams in meeting donor visibility and reporting requirements.

Objective 4: Security

  • Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.
  • Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan
  • Report possible problem or conflict during the activities
  • Promote gender equality within the humanitarian and/or development work

Objective 5: Gender & Safeguarding

  • Promote safe and equitable environments, through knowledge and application of the protocol against harassment and gender policy.

Key activities in your role will include
  • Lead proposal and report planning, writing, and coordination
  • Oversee grant compliance and donor requirements
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to HQ and network
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for funding opportunities

Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Action, Communications, Political Science, or related fields
  • 5+ years’ experience in proposal writing, donor compliance, and project cycle management
  • Extensive background in training, capacity building, and working with major donors (ECHO, OCHA, UNICEF, etc.)
  • Fluent in English and Arabic, with French highly desirable for donor engagement
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and data management systems
