Action Against Hunger (ACF) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-political, non-denominational and non-profit making organization working in the Palestinian Territory since 2002.

Action Against Hunger is recruiting for its Hebron office.

Project Assistant

For a period of 9 months.

General Objective:

The overall responsibility is supporting the Heads of Projects (HoPs) and the wider team in various administrative and project-related tasks. The role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, with a focus on database management, data review, document preparation, and providing support in monitoring and reporting on project-related tasks. 


Key activities in your role will include

Objective 1. Project’s administrative Support:

• Support Heads of Project in the administrative project’s activities and tasks as required.

• Assist the HoP in following up on the preparation of all project documents and tools including, but not limited to MoUs, agreements.

• Prepare and format agreements, procurement requests, payments documents preparation, and other project-related documents.

• Printing, scanning, and achieving project documents as necessary.

• Ensure the data accuracy after assessment from project’s team.

• Organize and maintain physical and digital filing systems of all project documents. 

• Keep detailed records of project activities and provide necessary support for follow-up actions.

• Ensure and follow up on project archiving and documentation in coordination with the related technical staff according to AAH archiving process and project closing checklist.

• Projects administrative tasks and duties requested by the direct supervisor. 


Objective 2. Database entry

Tasks:

• Maintain and update project databases and beneficiary status with accurate information and ensure that the project data are regularly updated and matched.

• Assist in ensuring that the project activities are registered properly on the database and followed up according to the implantation progress. 

• Ensure that the indicators and milestones are recorded in the database correctly. 

• Coordination with Information Management focal point on different digital tools 

• Regular updating of the contracts on the database.


Objective 3. Other Duties 

Tasks: 

• Ability to monitor work implemented in coordination with Head of Project.

• Assist the field staff team in data collection and surveys and other field tasks if necessary. 

• Travelling within West Bank base and field sites if required 

• Translation work when needed.

• Those duties are inherited to the position and requested according to the mission’s needs and context.


Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or equivalent practical experience 
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in humanitarian and development programming, with strong preference for project administrative work 
  • Proven experience in administrative support roles, preferably within NGO or project-based environments 
  • Strong ability to create, adapt, and maintain follow-up tools and administrative tracking systems 
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data entry, administrative processes, and data processing 
  • Solid knowledge of humanitarian, emergency, and development programming contexts 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team 
  • Proven ability to work flexibly and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment 
  • Excellent command of Arabic and English (reading, writing, and speaking) 
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet software, and other relevant IT tools 
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the West Bank and stay overnight when required 
  • Demonstrated commitment to gender equality, with prior experience or strong personal commitment to promoting gender equality principles
