Agricultural Technician-Re announcement
Primary duty station: One of ACF’s offices in the West Bank, to be determined based on the selected candidate’s location, with travel to other offices as required.

General Objective:
The overall responsibility is supporting the implementation of agricultural activities under FSL projects. Working under the supervision of the Agronomist, the position focuses on providing day-to-day technical support to farmers, ensuring quality implementation, promoting improved agricultural practices, and contributing to increased productivity and resilience.
The role combines hands-on field support, farmer extension services, data collection, and continuous improvement of agricultural practices, including the promotion of modern and climate-smart agriculture techniques.
Objective 1: Field Implementation & Technical Support
Tasks:
- Support the implementation of agricultural activities in line with approved work plans and technical guidance.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, ensure quality standards, and provide real-time technical advice.
- Provide hands-on guidance to farmers on agricultural practices, including land preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and harvesting.
- Verify proper use and application of agricultural inputs in the field.
- Identify implementation challenges and propose practical, field-based solutions
Objective 2: Farmer Support, Extension & Capacity Building
Tasks:
- Deliver practical training and coaching sessions to farmers and beneficiaries at field level.
- Follow up on the application of training content and correct practices during implementation.
- Verify quality, quantities, and proper use of agricultural inputs during distribution and implementation.
- Assist in preparing simple technical materials such as field guides, checklists, and training attendance sheets.
- Identifying field needs, gaps, and opportunities to improve agricultural interventions.
- Support coordination with local stakeholders, service providers, and beneficiaries at field level.
Objective 3: Field Monitoring, Data Collection & Reporting
Tasks:
- Act as a frontline extension worker, building strong and trust-based relationships with farmers and beneficiaries.
- Deliver on-site coaching, awareness sessions, and practical demonstrations on improved agricultural practices.
- Follow up with farmers to ensure adoption of recommended practices.
- Identify knowledge gaps and contribute to improving training approaches and materials.
- Support the Agronomist in adapting technical recommendations to local conditions and farmer needs.
- Contribute to the design of agricultural activities based on field needs and realities.
- Support in the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and technical documentation.
- Review and verify technical specifications for inputs, services, and agricultural infrastructure.
- Guide farmers in selecting appropriate inputs, technologies, and specifications based on quality, cost-effectiveness, and suitability.
- Ensure and monitor the quality of input used in the field.
- Promote the adoption of modern and climate-smart agriculture techniques to improve productivity and sustainability.
Objective 4: Monitoring, Data Collection & Learning
- Collect and record accurate field data related to agricultural activities, outputs, and outcomes.
- Support updating databases and tracking project indicators.
- Document lessons learned, challenges, and success stories from the field.
- Provide regular updates to the Agronomist and project team.
- Contribute to improving program approaches through field insights and innovation.
Objective 5: Coordination & Operational Support
- Coordinate with beneficiaries, local stakeholders, and service providers at field level.
- Support input distribution processes, including verification of quality and quantities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational procedures, safety, and security protocols.
- Travel regularly across project locations within the West Bank as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned based on operational needs
