The Nutrition Programme Manager is responsible for leading the implementation, and strategic oversight of nutrition programmes in ACF Gaza. This includes ensuring programme quality, managing resources, building team capacity, and representing Action Against Hunger in coordination platforms. The role works closely with the Heads of Projects (HoP) to ensure operational continuity and excellence and actively supports the HoP’s professional development as part of a structured capacity building.

- Strengthen Action Against Hunger’s capacity to deliver evidence-based nutrition interventions in Gaza.

Position Specific Objectives and Tasks
Objective 1: Strategic Leadership and Programme Design
Tasks
- Lead the development and revision of nutrition strategies and contingency plans.
- Analyse contextual data and assessments to inform programme design.
- Ensure integration of gender, protection, and environmental considerations.
- Develop methodologies and tools for nutrition programming.
Objective 2: Oversight and Project Cycle Managment
Tasks
- Ensure effective implementation of nutrition projects in line with PCM and donor requirements.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and compliance, and guide necessary adjustments.
- Oversee documentation, archiving, and beneficiary data management.
- Support the Deputy Nutrition Program Manager in operational planning and execution.
Objective 3: Team Leadership and Capacity Building
Task
- Support the Deputy Nutrition Programme Manager in the recruitment, onboarding, and development of nutrition staff.
- Ensure performance evaluations and development needs of the nutrition team are completed in line with ACF standards.
- Provide strategic coaching and ensure high-quality implementation.
- Work with the HoP to implement mission development and training plans.
- Actively support the professional development of the HoPs through mentoring, delegation of responsibilities, and structured capacity building.
Objective 4: Coordination and Representation
Tasks
- Represent the nutrition program in external coordination platforms and technical working groups.
- Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, NGOs, and UN agencies.
- Facilitate collaboration with other sectors and stakeholders.
- Contribute to advocacy and policy dialogue in the nutrition sector.
- Delegate to HoPs when appropriate.
Objective 5: Reporting and Documentation
Tasks
- Accountable for ensuring timely and accurate internal and donor reporting.
- Lead technical documentation, evaluations, and capitalisation efforts for Gaza.
- Promote learning and innovation through research and pilot initiatives.
- Support knowledge sharing and dissemination of best practices throughout the Nutrition programme in Gaza.
Education/Training
- University degree in Medical Sciences/Nutrition/Public Health, Nursing or similar.
- Post graduate level qualification with knowledge of Nutrition programming is an advantage
Technical Specific Knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme (BSFP), and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) protocols and implementation in humanitarian settings.
- Experience in nutrition assessments, Mid Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) screening, and data interpretation. Experience of Standardised Monitoring and Assessment Relief Transitions (SMART) surveys is an advantage.
- Experience and knowledge of nutrition information systems and reporting tools.
- Understanding of maternal and child nutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and emergency nutrition standards.
- Ability to integrate gender, protection, and health considerations into nutrition programming.
- Familiarity with international donors’ procedures and reporting is a plus
- Experience of implementing Project Cycle Management (PCM) and Budget Management
- Experience of reporting and writing skills for INGOs and donors.
Previous Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in Nutrition or Medicine with an INGO in a project management role
- Previous experience implementing PCM and managing budgets.
- Previous experience of team management and development.
Languages
Fluency in English and Arabic required.
