The Grants Manager is responsible for supporting the effective management of ACF Sudan’s grant portfolio by ensuring that programme information from the field is consolidated, reviewed and translated into timely, accurate and results-based reports and proposals for donors and internal stakeholders. The role also supports grant monitoring, compliance with donor requirements, grant modifications and coordination with programme teams and partners to ensure proper documentation and implementation of funded projects.

Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • Formation: Bachelor’s degree in international development, Humanitarian Studies, Communications, Journalism, Social Sciences or a related field. A master’s degree is highly preferred, particularly in disciplines aligned with humanitarian action, development cooperation, or global affairs. Specific technical knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of institutional donor regulations, compliance requirements and grant management processes within the humanitarian sector. 
  • Proven experience coordinating and producing high-quality donor reports and funding proposals, ensuring alignment with donor guidelines and programme evidence. 
  • Ability to monitor grant implementation, including tracking programmatic progress, burn rates, workplans and key contractual milestones. 
  • Familiarity with grant modification processes, including budget revisions, no-cost extensions and donor communications related to grant adjustments. 
  • Strong coordination skills to work across programme, MEAL, finance and logistics teams to consolidate information and ensure accurate grant documentation. 
  • Experience maintaining organised grant files and documentation systems to ensure audit readiness and compliance with internal and donor requirements. 
  • Previous experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian or development sector, with at least 2–3 years in a coordination or management role involving donor reporting, communications, or grants. 
  • Cooking of the humanitarian sector: Familiarity with but not only USG, CDCS, FCDO, GAC, AFD, ECHO, AICS, UN regulations (especially Pool Fund, WFP and UNICEF rules and guidelines). 
  • Action Against Hunger Knowledge of Action Against Hunger and its operation department areas of work is a plus. Languages: English and Arabic (written and spoken). Digital Tools & Systems:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint, for proposal development, donor reporting, budget follow-up and document management. 
  • Basic familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or similar) is considered an advantage. 
  • Experience using project and grants management platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Trello, Monday, Asana or similar) to track reporting timelines, deliverables and documentation. 
  • Strong skills in Excel-based financial tracking, including monitoring budgets, burn rates and grant implementation progress. 
  • Experience managing digital grant filing systems and documentation, ensuring organised, accessible and audit-ready records. Familiarity with programme or monitoring data systems (e.g., Kobo or similar tools) to support the consolidation of programme information for reporting purposes is an asset.
