Action Against Hunger (ACF) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-political, non-denominational and non-profit making organization working in the Palestinian Territory since 2002.

Action Against Hunger is recruiting for Northern West bank a

Primary duty station: Jenin office, with expected travel to the other offices(Hebron and Ramallah ) as required . 

North Area Manager

For an initial period of 12 months.

General Objective:

The overall responsibility for the North area Manager is building relationships, facilitating project implementation in the North -West Bank, maintaining operational continuity in the North- West Bank, engaging with stakeholders, and supporting program development.


Key activities in your role will include

Objective 1.  Support Head of Base in enhancing Coordination and Information flow & Strengthening Local Presence and Engagement.

Tasks:

  • Coordinate and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, partners, communities, and other stakeholders in the assigned area.
  • Participate in local community events and initiatives to increase ACF's visibility and understanding of local needs.
  • In coordination with Head of Base and program team facilitate humanitarian response and effectively to area-specific needs, crises, emergencies and Development.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings, workshops, relevant to the assigned area with feedback report to the line manager.
  • Participate, in coordination with the HoB, in representing ACF at meetings, events, and other engagements with donors, diplomats, and relevant stakeholders in the assigned area.
  •  Support the HoB in maintaining relationships and ensuring effective communication. 
  • Contribute to maintaining effective communication and partnerships in North-West Bank area.
  • Inform advocacy coordinator and Head of Base on evidence of the humanitarian needs, access to beneficiaries and any other related matters. 

 

Objective 2. In coordination with Program team and Head of Base enhance access to area-based situation Analysis, and contribution in proposal development.

Tasks:

  • Conduct regular needs assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify priority areas for intervention.
  • Monitor local trends, developments, and potential risks that may impact ACF's operations or beneficiaries
  • Proactively identify and address emerging needs and challenges in the region.
  • Serve as the focal point for the North-West Bank, providing timely and accurate information to support decision-makers and enable quicker responses to evolving needs

 

Objective 3. Facilitate Project Implementation and Monitoring & Maintain Operational Continuity and Access.

Tasks

  • Contribute to the planning, implementation, and monitoring of ACF's projects and activities in the assigned region during emergency situations, ensuring effective support to the team and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure   that projects are aligned with local needs and priorities and supporting and supervising the project teams that they are implemented effectively and efficiently.
  • Monitor and report on the security situation, access constraints, and potential risks in the area.
  • Identify and address potential challenges or issues that may arise during project implementation.
  • Contribute, in coordination with the Head of Base, to the development and implementation of contingency plans to ensure ACF's continued operations in challenging or emergency situations.
  • Maintain regular contact with security focal points (HoB) to stay informed of any potential threats or restrictions.
  • Coordinate with ACF's security team to ensure the safety and well-being of staff in the field.

Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • Bachelor's degree in international development, social work, humanitarian studies, public administration, or community development or any related fields.
  • Solid understanding of local development challenges, humanitarian needs, and the security context in Middle West Bank.
  • At least 5 years' experience in project management, community development, and/or emergency response.
  • Familiarity with the local context, stakeholders, and dynamics in the West Bank.
  • Preferably knowledge of humanitarian or emergency programming.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in challenging environments.
  • Knowledge of the related national and international technical standards.
  • Knowledge of environment, climate change and conflict sensitivity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to travel in West Bank and stay overnight.
  • Fluent in both Arabic and English. 

Our remuneration package:

The salary is varied from 133,628 ILS-153,183 ILS basic salary divided in 12 payments and based on the experience.

 

In addition, Action Against Hunger covers food and transportation allowances for a fully worked month.
