Health & Nutrition Specialist
For a period of 12 months with possibility of extension
General Objective:
- The overall responsibility of the Health and Nutrition Specialist is to pioneer and establish a health and nutrition program at the ACF West Bank offices, working closely with existing programs such as WASH and FSL to integrate health and nutrition components by establishing relationships with stakeholders in the nutrition and health sectors in the West Bank, Represent ACF in key humanitarian coordination meetings and workshops, and Monitor the quality of N&H activities implemented by ACF throughout the West Bank.
Key Activities:
Objective 1. Program Development and Implementation
Tasks:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify N&H needs, gaps, and opportunities in the West Bank.
- Design and implement small-scale health and nutrition activities within existing WASH and FSL programs.
- Participate in the development of concept notes and proposals for health and nutrition interventions.
Objective 2: External Coordination
Tasks:
- Represent ACF in relevant health and nutrition cluster meetings and coordination forums.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local health authorities, UN agencies, and other NGOs within the West Bank.
- Map existing health and nutrition actors and interventions in the area to identify potential partnerships and avoid duplication.
Objective 3: Technical Leadership
Tasks:
- Provide technical guidance on health and nutrition integration across existing programs.
- Develop evidence-based approaches and methodologies for health and nutrition interventions for advocacy and develop a response.
- Ensure adherence to national and international standards and best practices in health and nutrition programming.
Objective 4: Capacity Development
- Develop a capacity building plan for key N&H stakeholders and staff (both internal and external) based on capacity assessments and analysis of priority topics
- Implement trainings on key N&H topics to various target audiences (clinicians, healthcare workers, non-N&H staff, etc.)
Objective 5: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
Tasks:
- Design and implement data collection tools and methodologies for health and nutrition indicators.
- Analyze and document evidence-based information on health and nutrition needs and program impacts.
- Produce regular reports and presentations on health and nutrition situational analysis and program progress.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
ILS 100131- 114784 gross/ year divided in 12 payments and based on experience. In addition, Action Against Hunger covers food and transportation allowances for a fully worked month.
