Support and facilitate Action Against Hunger – Spain’s advocacy policy implementation regarding Sudan, in face of regional stakeholders and partners, in close coordination with advocacy officers in the Country Office and positioning of the organization on the different fora and stakeholders related to this crisis.
Support and facilitate the implementation of Sudan-specific advocacy strategies, autonomously aligning with the needs identified on the ground and guided by Action Against Hunger’s overall organizational objectives. This involves close coordination with ACF team members in the Country Office and Madrid, and effectively positioning the organization in various fora and with relevant stakeholders in the region.
Objective 1: Contextual Analysis and Strategy Development
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of the key humanitarian challenges and needs in Sudan, focusing on areas where Action Against Hunger can have the most impact.
- Develop a medium-term action plan tailored to the Sudan context, including risk analysis, mitigation measures, and mapping of funding opportunities and political allies.
- Ensure that the advocacy action plan is aligned with the broader organizational goals and adapted to the specific needs and dynamics of the Sudanese context.
Objective 2: Coordination and Implementation
- Work closely with the Country Office Coordination Team and HQ Advocacy Desk Officer in Madrid to ensure seamless communication and integration of advocacy efforts.
- Support the implementation of the advocacy programs for Sudan, providing regular updates and feedback to ensure alignment with ground realities and organizational objectives.
- Participate actively in all relevant forums and platforms, representing Action Against Hunger’s positions and ensuring that the organization’s voice is heard in key discussions.
Objective 3: Stakeholder Engagement and Networking
- Establish and maintain relationships with regional and national stakeholders, including INGOs, UN agencies, donors, and government officials.
- Develop joint advocacy positions and policies with INGO partners, focusing on collaborative efforts to address the Sudan Crisis.
- Organize and lead regular meetings with key stakeholders to present Action Against Hunger’s insights and advocate for policy changes or support needed in Sudan.
Objective 4: Capacity Building and Knowledge Sharing
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for the Country Office staff to enhance their understanding and skills in advocacy.
- Develop and share best practices and lessons learned from advocacy efforts in Sudan to improve future strategies and approaches.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the advocacy team by encouraging feedback and incorporating innovative ideas.
We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:
- Formal work contract: 12 months .
- Base: (Port Sudan)
- Salary: according to Action Against Hunger salary scale and to candidate’s previous experience.
This packaged includes:
- Expatriate insurance (health, live, repatriation, travel, etc.)
- Break flights/trips to defined area: (break per diem: 215 EUR)
- Yearly holiday return flight ticket
- Accommodation and housing expenses (in shared guest house)
- Travel costs to and from the mission.
- 28 working days of paid leave per year
