Action Against Hunger – Spain, as part of the Action Against Hunger International network, is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-confessional and non-profit organisation. Action Against Hunger is an international humanitarian organization that fights hunger and its root causes worldwide. Founded in France in 1979 and with 40+ years of experience in conflict zones, natural disasters and response to food crises, Action Against Hunger is one of the most important international organizations specialized in addressing hunger and its underlying causes. About 500 expatriate and more than 5,000 national employees are working in the International Network in more than forty-six countries. 

Action Against Hunger has been operating in the South Caucasus region since 1994 and its current programmes focus on the following areas: Food Security, Livelihoods, Agriculture, Economic and Rural Development and Humanitarian Assistance. 

Currently Action Against Hunger South Caucasus has an opening for a full-time position for an Administrative Assistant in its Yerevan office in Armenia.


Key activities in your role will include

Manage accountancy entries and cash   

  • Manage the cash box and pay advances to logistic staff;
  • Check the vouchers for advances made and request missing documents from advance requesters;
  • Check and ensure the eligibility of accounting documents and determine missing documents;
  • File original invoices and other accounting supporting documents;
  • Make bank reconciliations and cash counts and check the consistency between Agresso, the physical cash balance and the bank balances;
  • Implement and follow the organization’s financial procedures;
  • Support Admin/Finance Officer and Mission Finance Officer in the preparation of audits;
  • Ensure that funds are available before making any expense.

    Manage the accounting and administrative document filling

  • File accounting documents;
  • Sort documents by contracts.

    Archiving (digital archiving)

  • Scan financial documents according to accounting books on a  monthly basis;
  • Put financial documents according to the list of expenses (frequency depends on audit requirements);
  • Check the presence and correctness of financial documentation;
  • Arrange binders and make clear labelling system;
  • Sort out the documentation from previous projects.

     Administration and HR

  • Support Admin/Finance Officer in preparing labor contracts and other related documents;
  • Translate HR related documents from English into Armenian and vice versa. 

Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • Bachelor degree in Finance/Accounting or relevant training;
  • Knowledge of accountancy and cash management;
  • 2 years’ experience in accountancy, cash management;
  • Very good knowledge of Armenian and English, Russian would be an asset;
  • Windows, Microsoft Office experience with Accountancy ERP would be an advantage;
  • Flexible with respect to working hours and place of work;
  • Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality;
  • Take proactive measures to ensure a safe and supportive environment by preventing sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA). 

Our remuneration package:
  • Based in Yerevan with regular field trips to project locations;
  • 40 hours working week; overtime required occasionally;
  • Health insurance;
  • Remuneration according to AAH compensation grid; 
  • Contract according to Armenian Labor Code.
