Action Against Hunger – Spain, as part of the Action Against Hunger International network, is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-confessional and non-profit organisation. Action Against Hunger is an international humanitarian organization that fights hunger and its root causes worldwide. Founded in France in 1979 and with 40+ years of experience in conflict zones, natural disasters and response to food crises, Action Against Hunger is one of the most important international organizations specialized in addressing hunger and its underlying causes. About 500 expatriate and more than 5,000 national employees are working in the International Network in more than forty-six countries. 

Action Against Hunger has been operating in the South Caucasus region since 1994 and its current programmes focus on the following areas: Food Security, Livelihoods, Agriculture, Economic and Rural Development and Humanitarian Assistance. 

Currently Action Against Hunger South Caucasus has an opening for a full-time position for a Project Facilitator in its Yerevan office in Armenia.


Key activities in your role will include

Project Oversight 

  • Support Project Officer in project outreach and communication;
  • Assist in identifying, assessing and selecting project beneficiaries;
  • Support in the needs analysis of project beneficiaries;
  • Support in project activity planning;
  • Prepare procurement and supply plans with the technical teams.

Project Implementation

  • Facilitate awareness-raising campaign/meetings/consultations in target districts;
  • Support design and production of awareness raising, information and promotional materials (booklets, posters, social media, videos etc.) that may be required;
  • Support implementation of diverse project activities;
  • Support the Project Officer with additional tasks as needed;
  • Support Logistics Department in the procurement process;
  • Assist in coordination with all key stakeholders.  

Training and additional support

  • Support development of any training materials to be utilized;
  • Organize, oversee, participate and/or conduct relevant trainings;
  • Provide support during assessments;
  • Monitor project activities as well as activities of other agencies involved in the relevant area of operation;
  • Provide the Project Officer with the field reports and assist in preparing other reports as needed;
  • Support Action Against Hunger in design and development of new programming.

 


Do you meet the profile required criteria?
  • University degree in a relevant field (may be substituted by equivalent training or relevant job experience);
  • Background of PCM;
  • Experience in providing training and capacity building;
  • Experience in humanitarian sector;
  • Experience working with vulnerable groups
  • Good human relations, diplomacy, organizational and facilitation skills;
  • Four years’ experience working in NGO as Facilitator or similar position;
  • Experience in Food Security and Livelihood sector;
  • Armenian fluency and good knowledge of English;
  • Computer skills including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.);
  • Flexible with respect to working hours and place of work;
  • Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality;
  • Take proactive measures to ensure a safe and supportive environment by preventing sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA). 

Our remuneration package:
  • Based in Yerevan with regular field trips to project locations;
  • 40 hours working week; overtime required occasionally;
  • Health insurance;
  • Remuneration according to AAH compensation grid; 
  • Contract according to Armenian Labor Code.
