Action Against Hunger – Spain, as part of the Action Against Hunger International network, is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-confessional and non-profit organisation. Action Against Hunger is an international humanitarian organization that fights hunger and its root causes worldwide. Founded in France in 1979 and with 40+ years of experience in conflict zones, natural disasters and response to food crises, Action Against Hunger is one of the most important international organizations specialized in addressing hunger and its underlying causes. About 500 expatriate and more than 5,000 national employees are working in the International Network in more than forty-six countries.
Action Against Hunger has been operating in the South Caucasus region since 1994 and its current programmes focus on the following areas: Food Security, Livelihoods, Agriculture, Economic and Rural Development and Humanitarian Assistance.
Currently Action Against Hunger South Caucasus has an opening for a full-time position for a Project Officer in its Yerevan office in Armenia.
Project Oversight
- Assist and follow up the implementation of the project activities to support the improvement of quality of life of the most vulnerable population;
- Carefully plan each specific intervention;
- Oversee and guide project staff and partner agencies to ensure all activities are effectively delivered according to project plans and timeframe;
- Support in the process of identifying and selecting beneficiaries and assessing their needs;
- Organization of various awareness raising and knowledge building activities among the project target groups and beneficiaries;
- Ensure the M&E policies are followed during the project implementation in coordination and under guidance of M&E Manager;
- Facilitate strong coordination with all key stakeholders.
Document and report on activities, highlighting lessons learned and challenges faced
- Facilitate the M&E process the necessary means of verification, data and information to ensure the correct monitoring of the project
- Provide verbal and written reports to direct and functional managers on the progress of the project towards objectives and activities in the workplan and any additional activities;
- Ensure proper archiving of technical supporting documents and beneficiary data.
Technical support
- Support in the development of any training materials to be utilized;
- Support in design and production awareness raising, information and promotional materials (booklets, posters, social media, videos etc.) that may be required;
- Conduct trainings if necessary;
- Assist in design, planning, oversight and maintenance of the monitoring and evaluation system for all activities, in consultation with the M&E Manager;
- Draft monthly Activity Progress Reports, Project Interim and Final Reports to Action Against Hunger and its donors.
Project Development
- Assist in gathering and collation of all pertinent information and data on the project response to improve delivery and support the design of further interventions;
- Work together with project team, local and international experts and stakeholders to examine new opportunities for support;
- Provide recommendations to Action Against Hunger HoB for future program support;
- Support in the development and drafting of future interventions and proposals to support the most vulnerable.
