Action Against Hunger (AAH) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-political, non-denominational and non-profit making organization working in the Palestinian Territory since 2002. 

Action Against Hunger is recruiting for its Jerusalem office a 

                                                       Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Manager   

For 12 months with a possibility of extension  

 GENERAL OBJECTIVES 

The PSEA Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that our programs and operations are safe, dignified, and protective for all individuals that we come into contact with through our work, especially women and children. The successful candidate will lead the implementation and strengthening of PSEA policies and procedures, provide training and support to staff, and ensure compliance with global standards and best practices.   


Las principales actividades que desempeñaras son las siguientes:
  • Develop and Implement PSEA Policies  
    • Suggest developments to the established PSEA policies in collaboration with safeguarding, harassment prevention and equality expert at Headquarters (HQ) and update and in line with international standards and best practices.  

    • Ensure all staff, partners, and contractors working in/with Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) mission are aware of and adhere to PSEA policies.  

    • Organize a safeguarding structure in OPT mission identifying safeguarding focal points and leading its coordination.   

  • Training and Capacity Building  

    • Design and conduct regular training sessions for staff, partners, and community members on PSEA standards and reporting mechanisms.  

    • Develop training materials and resources that are accessible and tailored to different audiences within OPT mission.  

  • Reporting and Response Mechanisms  

    • Establish and maintain confidential and accessible reporting mechanisms for incidents of sexual exploitation and abuse.  

    • Ensure timely and effective response to all reports of sexual exploitation and abuse, including coordination with relevant internal and external stakeholders.  

    • Monitoring and Evaluation.  

    • Develop and implement a robust system for monitoring and evaluating PSEA activities and compliance in OPT mission. 

    • Prepare regular reports on PSEA activities, incidents, and trends for Country Director and relevant stakeholders.  

  • Community Engagement and Awareness  

    • Foster strong relationships with community members and leaders to raise awareness and build trust in PSEA initiatives.  

    • Implement community-based strategies to prevent and respond to sexual exploitation and abuse.  

    • Identify and engage with local women NGOs to help us dismantling gender discrimination behind SEA behaviors.   

  • Coordination and Collaboration  

    • Work closely with other departments, including Human Resources, Legal, and Program teams, to ensure PSEA is integrated into all aspects of the organization’s work.  

    • Represent the organization in inter-agency PSEA networks and working groups to share best practices and coordinate efforts.  

  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation  

    • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and implement mitigation measures.  

    • Ensure that PSEA risk management is integrated into the broader organizational risk management framework and project cycle.  

  • Policy Advocacy and Development  

    • Advocate for stronger PSEA policies and practices within the organization and in the broader humanitarian and development community.  

    • Keep abreast of developments in PSEA standards and ensure the organization’s policies and practices are up to date.  

  • Reporting and Documentation  

    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all PSEA reports and responses.  

    • Prepare and submit timely reports to donors, senior management, and other stakeholders as required.

    • Sexual Exploitation and Abuse or Gender-Based Violence 

    • University degree on gender, child, human rights, protection, or related field.   

    • At least 3 years of field experience working on sexual exploitation and abuse or gender-based violence. 

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the humanitarian sector. 

    • Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality.  

    • Arabic and English languages are required .


Nuestro paquete retributivo:

ILS 147,348 gross/ year divided in 12 payments and based on experience. In addition, Action Against Hunger covers food and transportation allowances for a fully worked month.
