Action Against Hunger – Spain, as part of the Action Against Hunger International network, is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-confessional and non-profit organisation. Action Against Hunger is an international humanitarian organization that fights hunger and its root causes worldwide. Founded in France in 1979 and with 45 years of experience in conflict zones, natural disasters and response to food crises, Action Against Hunger is one of the most important international organizations specialized in addressing hunger and its underlying causes. About 500 expatriate and more than 5,000 national employees are working in the International Network in more than fifty countries.
Action Against Hunger has been operating in the South Caucasus region since 1994 and its current programmes focus on the following areas: Food Security, Livelihoods, Agriculture, Economic and Rural Development and Humanitarian Assistance. Currently Action Against Hunger South Caucasus has an opening for a full-time position for a Project Facilitator based in its Tbilisi office in Georgia. The Project Facilitator will work on the project “Forging Wider Alliances to support Rural Development (FORWARD)” supported by the Austrian Development Agency with funds from the Austrian Development Cooperation. The project aims to increase the level of cooperation and collaborative efforts between Local Action Groups and other rural development actors to improve the lives and well-being of the rural communities in Georgia. Specifically, the Project Facilitator will provide support to Akhmeta Local Action Group further building its role within the rural development ecosystem.
1. Project Implementation
- Assist the implementation of the project to support community-led local development and socio-economic integration of rural communities in Akhmeta municipality and across Georgia;
- Support the Program Manager to carefully plan each specific project intervention with the project team;
- Support in the planning and delivery of support to the Georgian Association of LAGs (GALAG);
- Together with Asst. Technical Coordinator liaise closely with the Ministry for Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the Rural Development Agency on community-led local development issues;
- Support in the planning and delivery of Inter-LAG initiatives involving Akhmeta LAG and all LAGs existing in Georgia;
- Support service contractors/consultants to ensure all activities are effectively delivered according to project plans and timeframe;
- Support development of any training materials to be utilized and facilitate training sessions;
- Support in design and production of awareness raising, information and promotional materials (booklets, posters, social media, videos etc.) that may be required;
- Assist Logistics and Admin/Finance Department. in the procurement of assets for beneficiaries and ensuring all necessary documentation is in place;
- Assist in design, establish, plan, oversee and maintain a regular monitoring and evaluation system for all activities of the project, in consultation with the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager;
- Support drafting of monthly Activity Progress Reports and project Interim and Final Reports with Program Manager.
- Facilitate strong coordination with regional and local authorities and all key stakeholders working on ENPARD programming and rural development initiatives;
- Network and liaise with international community-led local development organizations, GALAG and Local Action Groups to help facilitate their engagement in the 2025 and 2026 LINC conferences, exchange events and workshops;
- Assist with media outlets to maximize outreach of the project.
- Gather and collate all pertinent information and data on the project response to improve delivery and support the design of further interventions;
- Work together with local and international experts and stakeholders to examine next stages of invention required to support rural development initiatives;
- Provide recommendations to the Action Against Hunger coordination team and local stakeholders for future programmatic support.
